Rauch began her career in comedy and small television and film roles. Early credits include appearances on Best Week Ever, the American remake of Kath & Kim, True Blood, and films such as I Love You, Man.
Her breakthrough came in 2009 when she joined The Big Bang Theory in season 3 as Bernadette Rostenkowski, a role that became a series regular. She remained with the show through its conclusion in 2019, appearing in more than 200 episodes. The high-pitched voice she used for the character was inspired by her mother’s voice (without the New Jersey accent). She received a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination for the role.
