Gürel began her acting career in 2010 with a role as Zeynep in the series Kızım Nerede?. She followed with appearances in Huzur Sokağı and a supporting role in Medcezir (Ebb and Tide).

Her breakthrough came in 2014 when she took the lead role of Öykü Acar in the romantic comedy Kiraz Mevsimi (Cherry Season), opposite Serkan Çayoğlu.
