Career
Pirro began her legal career as an Assistant District Attorney in Westchester County, New York. She later became the first chief of the county’s Domestic Violence and Child Abuse Bureau.
In 1990 she was elected the first female judge of the Westchester County Court. In 1993 she was elected the first female District Attorney of Westchester County, serving from 1994 to 2005 across multiple terms. She gained recognition for her work on domestic violence cases and high-profile prosecutions.
After leaving public office she moved into television, hosting the syndicated courtroom show Judge Jeanine Pirro (which won a Daytime Emmy) and later Justice with Judge Jeanine on Fox News (2011–2022).
