Career
Richards started acting as a young child. After early commercials she appeared in the 1987 television film Into the Homeland and guest-starred on The Golden Girls. She took supporting roles in films including Prancer (1989) and Tremors (1990), playing Mindy Sterngood. She also appeared in Spaced Invaders (1990).
At age 12–13 she was cast as Lex Murphy, the computer-savvy granddaughter of park founder John Hammond, in Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park (1993). The film became a global phenomenon.
