Rintaro Okabe is the main protagonist of Steins;Gate (visual novel 2009, anime 2011). Introduced in episode 1, he’s a first-year university student running the Future Gadget Laboratory in Akihabara. With a PhoneWave (name subject to change), he accidentally invents time travel — and spirals into a conspiracy of SERN, convergence, and death.
